Why SPF, DKIM, and DMARC matter

SPF

Lists which mail servers may send on your domain's behalf. Without it, receivers have no way to reject spoofed mail claiming to be from you.

DKIM

Cryptographically signs each message so receivers can confirm it wasn't altered after it left your server — a core Gmail/Yahoo bulk-sender requirement.

DMARC

Tells receivers what to do with mail that fails SPF/DKIM — and gives you reports on who is sending mail as your domain.

Frequently asked questions

It looks up your domain's public DNS records for SPF and DMARC, and checks DKIM at common selector names (google, default, selector1, selector2, and others). All three are read-only public DNS lookups — nothing is sent to your domain or mailbox.

DKIM selectors are chosen by whoever configured your sending, so there is no single well-known place to look. This tool checks the selectors we see most often in practice — if yours uses a custom selector, it may still be configured correctly even if we report it as not found.

Pingovo automatically provisions and repairs SPF, DKIM, and DNS records for your Pingovo sending identity before every send. This free tool is a general-purpose checker for any domain, including ones not sending through Pingovo.
